When you ask people how to help bees, most think first of flowering plants.
Lavender. Sunflowers. Wildflowers.
And that’s right, they are important.
But one important point is often overlooked:
Especially during warm, dry periods, bees don’t just need nectar,
but also water to survive.
And that is exactly where the problem lies.
Even gardens full of flowers often lack a safe place for bees to drink.
Puddles are contaminated, deep bowls are often unsuitable, and smooth surfaces make landings difficult and risky.
So bees continue searching.
From gutter to stone.
From puddle to asphalt.
Often without success.
